Botanical Brilliance at the Bellagio12:32:00 PM
While The Bellagio might be most famous for it's fountains, the hotel has an equally amazing indoor botanical garden, a 14,000 sf indoor garden that is transformed every season into a beautiful and elaborate horticulture display. When we visited, the new summer theme was Under The Sea, and it was a whimsical display of underwater sea creatures made entirely out of flowers, shrubs, and trees. If you love botanical gardens, this is not one to miss. And best of all, it is another FREE attraction!
Once you get past the fountain, you are greeted with an explosion of colors and many different sea creatures.
Even though you are tempted to look down at all the amazing plants and flowers, don't forget to look up once in a while, else you will miss the fish and jellyfish floating above you.
The centerpiece of the display is a 1,500 gallon walk-through aquarium designed by the team behind the reality TV show Tanked.
It is inhabited by many different tropical fish on loan from the aquarium at Mandalay Bay (which we visited previously), including many Dory impersonators. I lost count how many times I heard references to Finding Dory from kids and adults a like.
I told you it was immersive.
So next time you are out in Vegas, go ahead and check out the conservatory at the Bellagio. It's a welcome respite from the craziness of the city, especially if you find yourself missing plants and nature.
